On every profile

A player's season, in four figures

Every register a coach takes and every note they write lands in the player’s record for the cycle. Open a profile and the summary is there: how often they trained, how often they were picked, how many reviews they have had - and one button to the whole record.

Missing training is a choice; not being picked is not. Keeping the two apart means selection never reads as absence.

Approve the review with the evidence beside it

Research into English academies found review ratings swayed by the match result and by physical maturity. A rating with the record next to it is harder to give lightly: nine of twelve sessions on the half-turn, a coach’s note about the scan before the goal, a 92% training record.

The record follows the curriculum the team worked through and the sessions the player attended, so it is only as much work as running training.

Visibility

Shared with the player and their family, not the squad

Players and their guardians can open their own record. Coach notes stay with staff, reviews show once they are complete, and a teammate sees none of it. Try switching who is reading the record at the top of this page.

Ratings on one scale

Coming soon

Compare every rating, whatever scale it was given on

A five-star answer, a traffic light and a self-review on “Below, Meets, Exceeds” can’t be compared as they stand. We are building a common scale for each age group: your club says where each answer lands, and every rating in the record is drawn against the same bands.

Then the record can show the gap that matters most - where a player rates themselves a band higher than their coaches do - and how far they have come since last cycle.

  • Your club's own bands - say, Not yet to Excelling

  • Coach, self and last cycle on one chart

  • Each item as a row underneath, for reading at a glance

Questions

Frequently asked

What is a player development record?

The evidence gathered about one player over a review cycle: the sessions they attended, what those sessions worked on, the notes their coaches wrote and the reviews they received. neso builds it from what coaches already record after each session, so there is nothing extra to fill in.

Why are training and fixtures counted separately?

Missing training is a choice; not being picked for a fixture is not. neso shows training as attendance and fixtures as times picked, so selection never reads as absence.

Who can see a player's development record?

Club admins and the staff who manage the player's teams. The player and their guardians can see their own record. Teammates cannot. Coach notes stay with staff, and reviews still in progress are hidden from the player and guardians until they are complete.

Where does the record appear?

On the player's profile, and beside the review when it is approved, so whoever signs it off sees the attendance, the focus work and the notes next to the ratings they are approving.

Can I compare ratings across different review scales?

This is what we are building next: every rating placed on one common scale your club defines, so a five-star answer and a traffic light can be compared, charted per framework item and set against the previous cycle.
